So you are Ready To pop the Question Atop Ajax…
Brian will head up Aspen Mountain’s Gondola about 30 minutes ahead of you. It is walkable to anywhere in town. There is also paid parking nearby. If you need the address, use: 611 E Durant Ave, Aspen, CO 81611.
The gondola is called the Silver Queen Express. It runs from 10am to 4pm (last ride down at 4:30pm) in the summer.
You will need to purchase a Sightseer Pass. These cost $40 during the summer (unless you have a ski pass for the day/season). You can purchase your tickets ahead of time or at the ticket office just below the gondola.
With your pass in hand, proceed to the gondola deck, go through the turnstiles, and take the gondola to the top.
The gondola takes about 15 minutes. There are no stops in between the bottom and the summit. At times, the gondola takes a little longer than 15 minutes when winds pick up or it needs to be stopped for loading/unloading.
As you approach the summit, you will see the Sundeck to your right. This is the mountaintop restaurant, with restrooms, mediocre food, and wifi. Outside of the restaurant’s wifi, cell service is spotty and you may not be able to call or text Brian. The vista you are looking for is between the Sundeck and where you exit the gondola.
When you exit, the vista will be just off the left of the path. You cannot miss it.
Look for Brian. He will be looking for you as well. Now here are the five steps to capturing an amazing proposal.
Take out your phone and snap a few selfies.
Approach Brian - ask or he will offer to take a shot with your phone.
Let Brian position you. He will have the spot sited and settings dialed in.
Give Brian a moment before doing your thing!!! There will be a range of emotions you will want captured.
Put your shoulder to Brian - that way we can see your faces and the ring in the photos.
That’s it. It will be epic and that ring will look more beautiful on a finger than it does in that box. I promise.
